Scotland-based striker Fashion Sakala says time has come for Zambia to feature at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finals after missing three editions in a row. Speaking in Lusaka yesterday after he joined camp, the Glasgow Rangers forward said morale in camp is high and the team is looking forward to the games against Ivory Coast and Comoros Island.Sakala said the two games will be important, especially the first one against Ivory Coast, and the players are focused on winning it. Zambia face Ivory Coast in Yamoussoukro on June 3 and four days later host Comoros at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka. “This is the time for us to play at the Africa Cup. We won’t have any excuse to give if we fail. We have to believe and do everything to make the country proud.” He appealed to the fans to support the Chipolopolo because their support is important.“Sometimes just that support can make you win the game. We just have to stick together and keep believing, anything is possible.
