President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has urged the defence and security services to engage in viable economic activities.
President HICHILEMA says his government will continue supporting the defence and security wings through various programs such as infrastructure development.
The Head of State says government remains resolute in improving conditions of service for Defence and Security personnel.
Mr. HICHILEMA says the Military should be supported because they play an important role in securing the country’s food security and territorial integrity.
The President said this at Heroes Stadium in a speech read on his behalf by Defence Minister AMBROSE LUFUMA during the commemoration of the 46th Defence Force Day.
And the Defence Force Day has for the first time being commemorated with two Security Services namely the Zambia Police and the Zambia Correctional Services.
The Day which was commemorated under the theme; “Fostering Unity in the Defence Force and Security Services through Sports,” was held through various interactive sports activities
