A K276, 000 worthy new market in Mazabuka town is yawning, following traders’ refusal to conduct business from there.
The new Mazabuka town market that constructed by the town council is in 2018 is more or less a white elephant now.
Traders in Mazabuka town refused to occupy the new market, arguing that the location is bad for business.
Those spoken to by Kalemba blamed the Mazabuka Municipal Council for not consulting them before building the modern market.
It is now five years from the time the market was constructed and yet no occupant is willing to trade from the hapless shelter.
