UPND spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa has challenged the Socialist Party not to cry unfair and cruel treatment but come out clean and openly on their association to homosexual movements.

Mr Mweetwa says the Socialist Party leadership should redeem itself from widely circulated reports that the party is in full league with homosexual organisations, as alleged by their former comrade and Economic Front (EF) leader Wynter Kabimba.

Reacting to Mr Kabimba, Socialist Party president Fred M’membe said the remarks were unfair because they are not the only institution with links to organisations that promote and defend gay rights.

He said if anything, even Zambia as a country still maintains diplomatic relations with countries that promote and defend gay rights.
