65-YEAR-OLD WOMAN SUSPECTED OF PRACTISING WITCHCRAFT FOUND DEAD WITH AXE STUCK IN THE HEAD

A 65-year-old woman of Pokola township in Kabompo who had gone missing for a week has been found dead in a bush with an axe stuck in her head while her body was in a decomposed state.

According to Zambia Daily Mail, the woman, identified as Agatha Moonga Fumbelo, was facing accusations of practising witchcraft before her disappearance.

North-Western Province deputy police commanding officer Robison Moonga said six persons, including family members, have so far been arrested in connection with the death.

“All the suspects are said to have been behind the witchcraft accusations and initial purported disappearance” He said.
