The New Dawn Administration has released K605 million from the K1.3 billion budgeted for CDF.

Minister of Finance Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane stressed the need for stakeholders in the CDF implementation chain to scale-up activities.

He said the stakeholders should also ensure the absorption capacity is enhanced to meet intended objectives.

The Minister said over K411 million has been directed to the purchase of drugs and medical supplies while K269 million has gone to Social protection programmes.

Dr Musokotwane encouraged institutions like the Public Service Pensions Fund, through established channels, to ensure they give quarterly updates on their activities of public interest like pension payments.

He said in a statement that the treasury has from January to June, released the entire 2-billion kwacha allocated for pensions in the 2022 National Budget adding that the action was taken to ensure outstanding pension dues are cleared.
