MY HOME TOWN organization says it has noted with dismay trending issues on social media aligning it to politics which is against it’s core values.
The organization has also distanced MHT founder James Ndambo from a newly created Facebook account bearing his name adding that it was the work of vultures thirsty to dent the reputation of South African based Zambian tycoon.
In a statement today released by the Organization’s Media Coordinator Owen Miyanza, My Home Town (MHT) chairman Clever Ndambo described MHT as simply just an NGO striving to serve the community.
“We have observed trending issues on social media aligning us to a political party but we want to put this on record once again, that MHT is not a political organization neither aligned to any political party,” said Mr Ndambo.
Mr Ndambo said MHT’s role was to help unlock the hidden potential imbedded in human beings and not to advance political agenda.
He stated that the organization was extremely disappointed that certain individuals in the quest to attract disparaging remarks against MHT founder Mr James Ndambo has gone ahead to create a fake Facebook account in his name.
“We wish to put the record straight, Mr Ndambo at no time did he create a Facebook account nor his media team, for or on behalf of My Home Town organization bearing his name.We have no doubt in our mind that this is the work of vultures and scavengers wanting to denting Mr Ndambo’s good reputation arising from his generosity, ruined for no reason,” Mr Ndambo observed.
He said Mr Ndambo was so organized that he can’t form a Facebook account in his name on behalf of MHT adding that there were systems in place handling such matters.
“We are not a political organization neither are we aligned to any individual in office or aspiring to be in office, but we are just simply an NGO with the mission to serve the community,” Mr Ndambo stated.
He appealed to the public not to draw the organization into a competition with government.
“Ours is to just compliment government efforts in alleviating poverty levels affecting citizens and not to compete. Those thinking our charitable works are aimed at competing with government are not only misguided but misplaced too,”he stated.
