His Royal Highness Munokalya Muchelelwa Mukuni of the leya People has asked government to encourage the use of local languages in Primary Schools when disseminating lessons.
Mukuni spoke through Jonas Shakafuswa at the Bene Mukuni Lwiindi Traditional ceremony held at Simukale Cultural Heritage Site in Livingstone Saturday afternoon.
The traditional leader observed that young pupild understand better when taught using local languages, hence must be encouraged.
He further appealed to churches to also adopt local languages to enable their congregants hearken to the sermons.
Meanwhile, President Hakainde Hichilema, who was the Guest of Honour, stated that government remains committed to improving the provision of quality education and teaching of life skills.
