Chipolopolo Aim for Sixth Cosafa Title

Five-time champions Zambia will be looking to add to their trophy cabinet another crown when they the brave Warriors of Namibia in the final of the HOLLYWOODBETS COSAFA Cup 2022 final at the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium tonight.

The Chipolopolo will have to negotiate their way past a highly motivated Namibia side that sealed a final place at the expense of an exciting Mozambique side.

Coach Aljosa Asanovic will have to plug holes in his leaky defence that has conceded four goals in two matches but will be consoled by the high score rate of his team at the tournament.

In goal, the technical bench will have to pick among Cyril Chibwe, Lawrence Mulenga and Charles Kalumba.

At the back skipper Benedict Chepeshi may be joined by Dominic Chanda, Allan Kapila, Luka Chamanga while Prosper Chiluya, Luka Banda, Shemmy Mayembe and Warren Kunda will also be knocking on the door.

The midfield provides an array of options with the likes of Kelvin Kapumbu, Dickson Chapa, Saddam Phiri in line for the mopping up responsibilities while fluidity may come with Kelvin Kampamba, Spencer Sautu and Joshua Mutale.

Upfront, the onus will be on Ricky Banda who could be paired with any of Jimmy Mukeya, Patrick Gondwe and Enock Sakala junior.

The brave warriors who have one Cosafa title to their credit will be looking to add their second since their 2015 crown and will fancy their chances given hwo they have made it to the final.

Namibia defeated Madagascar 2-0 in the quarterfinals with goals coming through Absalom Iimbondi and Rudath Wendell.

In their triumph over Mozambique, Namibia drew blood through Bethuel Muzeu.

The match will be streamed via COSAFA.TV, SABC Sport and FIFA+ and also on SuperSport9.

Kickoff is at 19H00 while the third and fourth play-off between Senegal and Mozambique will be at 15H30 CAT.

South Africa and Botswana will contest the Plate Final at 10H00.
