Zambia Women National Team striker Grace Chanda is among the final three names shortlisted for the Best CAF Women’s Player of the Year Award, alongside Ajara Nchout Njoya of Cameroon and Asisat Oshoala of Nigeria.
Chanda has captained Zambia to their first FIFA Women’s World Cup appearance at the 2022 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), scoring two goals and picking up two Woman of the Match awards in matches against Togo and South Africa.
Also nominated for the Coach of the Year award is Copper Queens coach Bruce Mwape, who has made it on the final shortlist alongside Desiree Ellis of South Africa, Jerry Tshabalala of Mamelodi Sundowns and Reynald Pedros of Morocco.
The Awards will be held in Rabat, Morocco on 21 July 2022 at 21h00CAT.
