POLICE have opened a docket for a 40-year-old man of Chongwe district who assaulted his wife on grounds that she served him nshima with vegetables instead of meat.
The victim, Maureen Mwanza, of Chibolya Compound in Chief Nkomesha, is admitted to Chongwe District Hospital.
According to a report published by Zambia Daily mail, police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga, the victim and Chongwe One-Stop Centre confirmed the incident in separate interviews yesterday.
Mr Hamoonga said police in Chongwe received a report of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in which Maureen Mwanza complained of having been beaten by her boyfriend, George Bwalya, whom she stays with .
