Government has decided to cancel undisbursed loan financed projects totalling Two Billion United States Dollars.

Among the projects that have been cancelled are the Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting Systems in Zambia under the Ministry of Information and Media, FJT University Under the Ministry of Education and Rehabilitation of Urban Roads Phase 3 under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Urban Development

According to a report published by ZNBC, secretary to the Treasury, FELIX NKULUKUSA said this is part of additional measures taken by government to address the current debt challenges, beyond the debt restructuring process.

Mr. NKULUKUSA however said a few critical projects are being re-scoped to facilitate their completion using budgetary resources to be allocated over the medium term.

He said Cabinet made the decision at its sitting on Thursday, July 28, 2022.
