Police in Lusaka have arrested a 33-year-old woman of Chawama area to help with investigations into the death of a 58-year-old man she went with to a named guest house.
Mr Leonard Mushishima, aged 58, booked a room at a named guest house in the company of Astridah Ndala.
But he was found dead yesterday in one of the rooms at the named guest house with foam coming out of his mouth.
Astridah is said to have fled the scene but has been picked up by police to help with investigations.
A report of suspected murder has since been entered, Zambia Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga has confirmed in a statement.
“Brief facts of the matter are that, on the September 1, 2022 at around 09:00 hours, the now deceased person identified as Leonard Mushishima aged 58 had booked a room at the named guest house together with a Astridah Ndala aged 33 of a named house in old Chawama compound, and were there until the following day on September 2,2022 at around 10:00 hours when Leonard Mushishima was discovered dead,” Mr Hamoonga stated.
The crime scene was visited by police officers who found the deceased’s body lying on the floor inside the guest room.
