VICE-PRESIDENT Mutale Nalumango says a petition by a dissatisfied bidder lodged at Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) necessitated the cancellation of the fertiliser supply tender.
According to Zambia Daily mail, Mrs Nalumango said during the Vice-President’s Question Time in Parliament yesterday that the cancellation had nothing to do with politics.
Recently, ZPPA cancelled a tender which the Ministry of Agriculture awarded to a contractor following what was explained by Minister of Agriculture Mtolo Phiri as a “technical error”.
Mrs Nalumango, who was answering a question from Leader of the Opposition and Mporokoso Member of Parliament (MP) Brian Mundubile (PF), said it was a petition that brought out irregularities, which ZPPA concurred.
