A 52-year-old Geoffrey Mulemba of Kambanja village in Kawiko, Mwinilunga, has been murdered in cold blood by unknown people.
According to a report published by Zambia Daily Mail, Mulemba was haxed to death on suspicion that he was practising witchcraft.
North-Western Province deputy police commanding officer Robison Moonga confirmed the incident in a statement yesterday and identified the deceased as Geoffrey Mulemba, who was axed to death on Thursday in Kamfunji area.
“Police visited the scene and found the body of the deceased lying in a pool of blood not very far from Lwakela road in Kamfunji area,” Mr Moonga said.
The body was found with a deep cut behind the head and on the right ear with an axe still stuck in the head. “Signs of struggle at the scene of crime were observed.
