SOME teachers in Kabwe yesterday booed their union leaders because they allegedly do not enjoy the full benefits of paying monthly contributions as members.

After Kabwe deputy mayor Kayuombo Mihova and Kabwe Central Province education standards officer Jeston Kunda spoke, it was the turn of the representative of the union to speak.

However, the moment Professional Teachers Union of Zambia (PROTUZ) national director for mobilisation Kelvin Mudenda was called to speak, he was greeted with boos, with some shouting that they did not want him to address the gathering.

When he decided to ignore the boos, the intensity of the booing increased even further, prompting Kabwe district education board secretary Crispin Mulaya to intervene .
