(BBC) Two independent candidates who withdrew in the Kabushi and Kwacha Parliamentary by-elections have written to the Electoral Commission of Zambia that they have rescinded their decisions.
The two, LAWRENCE KASONDE and ALFRED YOMBWE, have separately written to the Chief Electoral Officer stating that they have rescinded their earlier decision and now express interest to contest the polls.
Mr. KASONDE, who was contesting in Kwacha Constituency, says after wider consultations with his stakeholders, he has been given clarity on matters which made him resign and now wants to contest the elections.
