Four people are said to have died on the spot when a pirate taxi had a tyre burst on Saturday between Chipata and Kasenengwa.
A Times of Zambia reporter Julius Phiri who was in the same vehicle survived the accident but sustained head injuries and is believed to be out of danger. He was admitted at Chipata District Hospital.
The taxis that ferry a maximum of 7 persons are said to be always overloaded.
