KAFUE Council Chairperson Dr Buumba Malambo says she has raised K100, 000 from stakeholders meant for marketeers in Kafue.

Speaking when she presented Empowerment Fund to 50 marketeers at Kalukungu Market in Zambia Compound on Monday afternoon, Dr Malambo said the money will be given to marketeers from six markets in Kafue.

Dr Malambo who was flanked by members of Ikasa Igwasha group, a non Political and Denomination organisation that donated assorted items to elderly women in ZC, said the Empowerment Fund is being done under her initiative dubbed “Taking Council to the Community”.

She disclosed that the aim of the initiative is to give back to the Community.

“Many times, the council is known to get money from the community in form of levies and revenues but I want to do something different by giving back to the Community instead of getting from the people” Dr Malambo said.

Dr Malambo revealed that the council has started putting up Security lights in Kalukungu Market and concrete on ground of market.
