10 people, among them six women, have been arrested in Nchelenge district for allegedly stoning a man to death after accusing him of being a witch.
According to Zambia Daily mail, Aaron Mwansa, 63, of Matandiko village, was stoned to death on Wednesday last week after being accused of killing his niece.
Police officers who rushed to the scene rescued the victim, who was partially burnt, and rushed him to a health centre where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
“Investigations revealed that the deceased was suspected to be responsible for the death of his niece, who died on August 28, 2022 after a short illness .
