A Female teacher at Nyakutwa Primary School in Chipata district has been murdered.
Kunda Phiri aged between 35 and 40 was murdered yesterday.
Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga has confirmed the incident.
Mr Hamoonga said police have since launched a manhunt for the deceased husband Cephas Chirwa of Nabvutika Compound in connection with the murder.
He said police are still investigating the matter to establish the circumstances that led to the incident.
Mr Hamoonga says police will issue a comprehensive statement once investigations are over.
But sources in Nyakutwa area alleged that the deceased was beaten to death by her husband for delaying to prepare relish.
