A couple of Monze’s Freedom Compound in Southern Province has abandoned its two children after separation.

According to details obtained by Diamond News, the two children aged 13 and 17 were abandoned by their parents identified as Paul Mulenga and Lydia Mwamba six months ago.

The 17-year-old son says their parents sold everything in the house after going on separation, leaving him and his younger brother without anything, not even food or blankets.

The grade seven pupil at one of the schools in the district says efforts to communicate with his parents have proved futile.

He has appealed to well-wishers and government to help with food as they sometimes go for days without eating anything.

He adds that concentrating on school has become a challenge and now fears for his young brother’s health who is currently unwell but still has to take medication on an empty stomach.

One of the neighbours has also expressed concern over the welfare of the duo and has appealed for help from well-wishers. This is contained in a report published by Diamond TV Zambia.
