(ZNBC) President Hakainde Hichilema is on Friday next week expected to launch the Marketeers’ Booster Loan Facility to empower beneficiaries with capital.

Small and Medium Enterprises Development Minister Elias Mubanga has disclosed the development in Lusaka.

Mr. Mubanga says the loan facility will help marketers to come up with a Tomato Processing Plant in a bid to add value to the product.

He says it disheartening that the surplus tomatoes in the markets always go to waste.

He said this in Lusaka during the commemoration of the ECO Bank Day as the bank donated 250,000 Kwacha and 100 Financial Literacy Books to the Zambia National Marketeers Credit Association ZANAMACA.

And ECO Bank Managing Director Oladji Charmel Ognin said his bank is committed to contributing to efforts to enhance financial inclusion and literacy.

Mr. Ognin says this is key to supplement government’s agenda to empower the vulnerable, a move that is subsequently crucial to economic development.

And ZANAMACA President Frank Mupila praised the bank for donating 250,000 Kwacha to his association.
