(ZNBC) Vice President Mutale Nalumango says government has not given out any contract to rehabilitate the TAZAMA oil pipeline.

Mrs. Nalumango says the oil pipe line which is blocked only needs cleaning to make it active.

She said this in the National Assembly during the Vice President’s question time in response to Kamfinsa Member of Parliament Christopher Kangombe who wanted to know why government awarded a contract to rehabilitate the 1,700 kilometers pipe

line to one company.

And Mrs. Nalumango said she will follow up to ascertain what is causing the delay to ratify the appointment of Gilbert Phiri as Director of Public Prosecutions -DPP.

This was in response to Nalolo Member of Parliament Imanga Wamunyima who wanted to know what the delay is in rectifying the appointment of Mr. Phiri as DPP.

Meanwhile Mrs. Nalumango said the National Assembly has the power to put in place legislation to make the process of scrutiny for registration of churches strict to avoid having pastors that do not really represent the teaching of Christianity.

She said the law must follow any such people who are posing as pastors and urged the public to be alert and report people that pose as pastors when infact not.

Mrs. Nalumango however said morality is a personal issue and it would be difficult for the registrar of societies to determine the intentions of people at registration stage of Churches.

This was said in response to Roan Member of Parliament Joel Chibuye who wanted to know what government is doing to regulate people that pose as pastors but conduct themselves contrary to Christian teachings.
