ABOUT 500 mining licences, both local and foreign, are earmarked for cancellation for non-adherence to mining regulatory rules.

Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development Permanent Secretary Mooya Lumamba said in an interview that following the closure of the cadastre department, which resumes normal operations today, more than 500 mining licences were found to be in default after an audit .
