THE Technical Education, Vocational, and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA) has in its 2022 third quarter college accreditation process awarded Nsanje Hills Training Institute with an operating licence.

The operating license will be valid up to September 2025.

Nsanje Hills Training Institute will be offering selected skills training courses, professional and short term courses.

Located on the western end of Chilanga near Shibuyunji and Kafue districts, Nsanje Hills Training Institute becomes the first skills training centre in Chilanga. It’s being led by Dr Edwin Sianzinda.

Announcing the qualification of Nsanje Hills Training Institute as a TEVET Institution, College Board chairperson Mr Flexon Mizinga said the development is good for the people of Chilanga and the surrounding areas.

“This college is located in a peri-urban part of Chilanga called Kacheta where people do not have access to tertiary education. This college will serve not only the people of Chilanga but also surrounding districts like Shibuyunji and Kafue. Both of these districts are located within 10 kilometres from where the college sits,” said Mr Mizinga who is also the immediate past Director General of National Museums Board.

The institution is targeting to train at least 1,000 youths in Chilanga, Kafue and Shibuyunji in various trades in 2023. It also has a target of training 20,000 Zambians across the globe in the first half of 2023 through its online short courses.

Nsanje Hills training Institute recently merged with Chilanga Premier College— an institution that pioneered simplified and affordable online (WhatsApp) training in Zambia way back in 2019. This is contained in a report published by SE.
