Bwengwa UPND MP Kasautu Michelo has warned Health Minister Sylvia Masebo against getting into shady deals.
Mr Michelo warned the Minister today in Parliament that she should not order expired drugs or get her friends contracts at the Ministry.
He added that ACC will be visiting the Minister if she tries to get into shady deals.
“And Minister let me request you that we don’t want to see you ordering, under your ministry, expired drugs. We don’t want the Zambian people to start consuming expired drugs and we don’t want you minister to engage yourself into shady deals as a Minister of Health,” he said.
“And we don’t want you engaging your friends to be ordering drugs, okay? Please try to be very transparent. We want you to be very transparent. If you want to do that …. I think the ACC will visit you. On that one, we are serious as UPND. We don’t want you to go the route of hiding.”
Meanwhile, the Lawmaker advised the Minister to meet with ZAMSA over the issue of drugs.
“I think go back and sit down with ZAMSA so that they can make sure that drugs are provided in our country because money is there. We never used to receive enough money in the previous regime but right now we have enough money and we want to see that money being used,” he said.
