Solwezi based entrepreneur Musanya Silungwe has launched “Build Smart Business,” a company that recycles plastic wastes, disposable beer bottles into useable products such as Pavers, building blocks, tiles, poles and flower pots.

The 25-year-old drew the inspiration to venture into such a brilliant innovation from the increased lack of control of solid waste in the country.

Silungwe feels lack of solid waste control poses a real threat to nature and the future of the planet earth.

His intention is to build the business and spread it throughout the cities in the country to ensure that the problem of plastic waste is dealt with.

In an interview, Silungwe said the responsibility regarding dealing with the plastic waste problem cannot be left to councils alone.

Meanwhile, Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises Elias Mubanga and IDC Chief Investment Officer Brian Nalishuwa were elated with the innovation after they visited the plant.

The duo promised maximum support to the project. This is contained in a report published by Daily Star Zambia.
