(FAZ) The Zambia Under-20 Men’s Football National Team will kickstart their preparations for the Egypt 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with coach Chisi Mbewe summoning 36 local players for a camp.
Mbewe has kept the core of the Cosafa winning side with skipper Dominic Kanda, goalkeeper Jeban Tembo and exciting winger Songa Chipyoka making the cut for the provisional squad.
The squad will enter residential camp on Sunday in Lusaka in the first phase of preparation for the continental showpiece that will be held in February next year.
Zambia returns to the under-20 AFCON fold for the first time since their 2017 expedition that saw them lift the crown on home soil.
Chisi is being assisted by Albert Mphande, Alfred Lupiya, Emmanuel Msichili and Donwell Yobe.
