(ZNBC) President Hakainde Hichilema is concerned that the country has continued to see high new HIV infection rates which should be halted by reaching everyone through testing, treatment and care.

President Hichilema has also expressed concern on the low treatment rates of children aged between 0 and 15, and has since called for double efforts to address the current challenges.

The President adds that it is the right of every Zambian to have access to HIV/AIDS testing, treatment and care despite where they are staying.

The President said this in a speech read for him by Minister of Education Douglas Syakalima in Lusaka during the World Aids Day commemorations held under the theme “Equalise ! Closing the Gaps.”
