3A 12-year-old girl of Mufulira has died after being assaulted by two boys aged 14 and 15 in Mufulira Township.
The victim is believed to have as a result of the assault by the two juvenile assailants sustained head and chest injuries.
Copperbelt commanding officer Peacewell Mweemba said the incident occured on December 11th, this year at around 14:00 hours in which Gladys Sope was assaulted by two juveniles aged 14 and 15.
He said that the victim after the assault was admitted to Arthur Davidson Children’s Hospital (ADCH) where she unfortunately died on December 16th.
“A postmortem was conducted on yesterday on the body of the deceased at Kitwe Teaching Hospital, and preliminary results indicate that she died as a result of head and chest injuries, sustained after being assaulted by the two juveniles. The two suspects have been detained in custody, and will appear before court soon,” he said. This is contained in a report published by Mwebantu.w
