The Appeals Committee of the Football Association of Zambia-FAZ, has upheld the K20, 000 fine and six months ban of Nkana striker Alex Ng’onga for offensive behaviour imposed by the Disciplinary Committee.
The Nkana forward was on 11th December, 2022, handed a six months ban by the Disciplinary Committee for his behaviour during a Week 14 Super League match against Power Dynamos.
Ng’onga vented his anger on a SuperSport pitch side microphone after angrily tearing his jersey before glaring television cameras and stunned supporters to draw attention to himself.
The forward had appealed the decision but has not been successful, hence ruling him out of action for the remainder of the 2022-2023 season.
The Appeals Committee is of the view that the fine of K20, 000 imposed by the Disciplinary Committee is on firm ground as it is a bare minimum.
The Committee indicate that money charged is sufficient to repair the mic for SuperSport and cover the costs of the equipment should need arise.
Meanwhile, Ng’onga has reportedly impressed in Lubumbashi where he is currently trying to secure a move away from Nkana, with the forward training with Congolese giants, TP Mazembe for about two weeks now.
Ng’onga has scored three goals and assisted one in two friendly games for the Ravens. This is contained in a report published by Byta FM.
