A TWENTY-FOUR year Kitwe woman who allegedly killed her baby and wrapped it in a chitenge before hiding the body in a plastic bag has been arrested after postmortem results confirmed that the infant was m@rdered.
According to a report published by Mwebantu, on Monday police received a report from Martin Mwamba 32, a Community Crime Prevention Unit (CCPU) officer of Mulenga compound that his girlfriend Leya Kasonde 24 had concealed the birth of his child.
Copperbelt Province Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba said a postmortem that was done at Kitwe Teaching Hospital (KTH) revealed that the baby had a head injury, fractured ribs and haemorrhage on the right side of the chest.
