ZANACO midfielder Salulani Phiri has apologised for his unwarranted behaviour during Sunday’s Super League Week 22 match against Prison Leopards.

Phiri was sent off in the 41st minute by Chinsali-based referee Chola Chansa for head-butting Isaac Ngoma and later charging at the official in protest of a red card.

He held the referee’s shirt as his team-mates restrained him and Zanaco lost 2-0.

“Though it was in the heat of the moment, I should have acted professionally like I have always done in my previous years for this game” He said. This is contained in a report published by Zambia Daily Mail.
