A Zambia Police officer and eight other passengers have been involved in a road accident on the Nakonde-Mbala road.
The casualties, including the driver, are aged between 27 and 60.
One man in his mid 50s has sustained a fracture in the left arm and collarbone while the oldest aged 60 has complained on pain in the neck.
Another man is believed to have fractures in the right arm.
Two of the casualties admitted to the district hospital are women.
The driver, Constable Philimon Sakala, escaped unhurt in the accident that happened at Ilola village, some 27Km west of Nakonde town.
The cause of the accident is suspected to be the 27-year-old police officer failing to maintain lane and in the process plunged into a drainage.
