(ZNBC) The Football Association of Zambia-FAZ- is confident the Under 20 Men’s football team will Win the AFCON title and qualify to the World Cup owing to the quality of friendly games played.

FAZ- President ANDREW KAMANGA says with the quality of preparations afforded to the team, they will make the country proud by sailing to the final of the 2023 AFCON tournament.

And with the 2023 AFCON competition having kicked off on Sunday ,KAMANGA says the team is ready as they commenced preparations over a month ago.

KAMANGA said this in the weekly Presidents Corner online publication.

Meanwhile Under 20 winger RICHARD NGOMA has been ruled out of the AFCON tournament after sustaining a shoulder injury.

He joins midfielder JOSEPH SABOBO BANDA on the list of absent Zambian players for the tournament.

Under 20 team Doctor AARON MUNKONDYA confirmed the development to ZNBC Sports from the teams base in Egypt.

MUNKONDYA says it is unfortunate that NGOMA is not going to be part of the tournament because he got injured whilst playing his last game before joining camp.

He says the doctors in Israel are doing everything possible to make sure that he receives the best treatment.

And the team has been boosted by the arrival of Spanish based player PETER CHIKOLA.

CHIKOLA says he is eager to help the team win Silver wear and qualify for the world cup.
