(ZNBC) One person has died after being bitten by a rabid dog in Chitandika area of Chipangali district.
Two other people were also bitten by the same dog.
The incidences happened last week.
Officers from the department of Livestock and Fisheries who are already in the area are sensitizing the people before commencing dog vaccination exercise.
Chipata District Livestock and Fisheries coordinator Dr. Martha Sinzala says veterinary officers will also engage the affected people.
And Chipangali District Council Chairperson, Maxson Nkhoma has urged people to have their dogs vaccinated because drugs for rabies are very expensive.
Mr. Nkhoma was speaking when he met veterinary officers in Chipangali district.
