Police in Muchinga Province are investigating a case in which two people were allegedly hacked with a machete and robbed of K21, 000 cash on a business trip.
In this matter, Petronella Mwango, 40, and her brother in-law Mike Chanda, 37, of Mpika were hacked by an unknown person in Shiwang’andu who was supposed to supply them with 70 by 50 kg bags of onions, for resale in Kasumbalesa.
Ms. Mwango in the company of Mr. Chanda told Diamond News that upon making arrangements, they met the said man in Chisoso village but on the way to show them the purported onions, he turned on them with a machete which he was hiding in a laptop bag.
Diamond media visited the victims who are admitted to Chinsali General Hospital where they shared the ordeal.
