THE Zambian Government has donated more than 100 matric tones of maize to Malawi after the powerful Tropical Cyclone Freddy tore through the neigbouring Country killing hundreds of people.

Eastern Province Permanent Secretary Paul Thole is flagging off the transportation of the 100 metrics tones of maize to Malawi in Chipata today.

Another consignment of about five matric tones of white maize has been transported to Malawi from Lusaka by Zambia Airforce plane this morning.

President Hakainde Hichilema has sent his sympathy to his Malawian counterpart Lazarus Chakwera and the people of Malawi over the loss of life and damage to property caused by Cyclone Freddy.
