(ZNBC) A 30-year old woman of Siavonga District is nursing serious wounds after being attacked by a Hippo.
Flora Hadelema of Mundulundulu village, Chief Simamba’s area is admitted in Siavonga District Hospital and her condition is reported to be unstable.
According to Zambia Police Deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale, the victim spotted a hippo grazing in her maize field near lake Kariba and decided to go there with a view to drive it out of the field.
Mr. Mwale said it was at this point when the hippo charged and attacked her.
He said the victim sustained serious multiple cuts (hippo bites) on her legs and on the stomach.
Mr. Mwale said police have since opened an Inquiry file.
