The Copper Queens yesterday left for Seoul ahead of the two friendlies against South Korea, with coach Bruce Mwape urging the players to remain competitive and fight for positions in the FIFA World Cup-bound team.
Zambia will face South Korea on April 7 and 11.
Mwape said that positions are up for grabs and players need to prove their worth.
He said the women’s game has advanced and players need to match the standards if they are to compete favourably at world level.
“These positions are not guaranteed. We need players to work extra hard and prove that they deserve to be in the team.
Women football has greatly improved and standards at the World Cup need players with a strong mentality .
