THREE Grade 12 pupils at Chongwe Secondary School have been arrested by police after they allegedly beat up a school-mate to death.
The three suspects, all aged 17, identified as Esau Phiri, Chabota Sichungu and Joseph Bwalya, allegedly caused the death of Raphael Kaunda, aged 16, after they ganged up and beat him.
The incident happened on March 30, 2023 around 22:00 hours when the victim, who is also a Grade 12 pupil at the same school, asked for K5 from a prefect.
The prefect reportedly agreed to give him the money on condition that he (victim) ins@lts a rival group that the prefect was in conflict with.
Because the victim needed the money desperately, he agreed and went to ins@lt Esau Phiri, who got angered and started beating him.
