A four-year-old girl has allegedly been s£xually abused by a School Gardener in Njomona area of Southern Province.
Regional Police Commissioner, Paul Achiume has confirmed the incident to Byta FM Zambia, indicating that it occurred on 29th May, 2023 between 06:30 and 15:00 hours.
Achiume explains that on the aforementioned date, the victim arrived home from school around 15:30 hours with her uniform worn inside-out.
He narrates that the mother to the victim decided to bath her daughter and when she wanted to clean the victim’s genital area, she complained that it was paining.
The Commissioner discloses that when asked what had happened at school, the victim shared that the School Gardener fondled her private parts after removing her skirt and pant.
Achiume further states that the victim was also warned by the School Gardener who is the suspect not to tell anyone, not even her Teacher.
He says Police are yet to make an arrest, further noting that the victim has been issued with a medical report form.
