The Zambia Swimming Union is thrilled to announce that Hon. Justice Nicola Sharpe-Phiri has received a prestigious nomination from World Aquatics (FINA) to serve as a Technical Official at the upcoming World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan.
This remarkable achievement marks the first time that Zambia has been selected to officiate at the esteemed World Championships, highlighting the remarkable growth of swimming within the country.
Nicola brings a wealth of experience to this role, having led the technical team as Gala Referee in numerous league, national, and regional events throughout the years. Her expertise and dedication have undoubtedly contributed to this well-deserved nomination.

The 2023 World Aquatics Championships, which mark the 20th edition of the event, will take place in Fukuoka, Japan, from July 14th to July 30th, 2023. The competition will see the participation of 2,392 athletes from 195 nations, and it will be hosted across four different venues, including Fukuoka, Marine Messe Fukuoka, and Momochi Seaside Park.
