Monze Urban Ward Councilor Paul Mutenguna says Monze town is eager for development urging potential investors to consider taking their investments which he says will in turn help to create jobs among locals.
Mutenguna says that the peaceful environment in the district makes Monze a good business destination for various business categories that would add value in boosting the local economy as the growing population was equally ready for the growing market.
Speaking when he graced the opening of a second outlet for Mobile Champion in Monze’s Central Business District on Friday, the Monze Urban Ward Councilor emphasized that end of political cadres taking over markets and bus stations presents a new lease for investors.
Mutenguna states that Monze has vast land to accommodate new businesses in areas of health, agriculture and communication electronic devices as the local authority has lowered the high cost of doing business in the area.
He has since expressed happiness that Mobile Champion has opened another outlet attributing the development to the huge population that aims to better their lives through proper communication technology through quality mobile phones.
And speaking to Byta FM Zambia after the launch of the outlet, Mobile Champion Head of Marketing, Steve Mweemba indicated that management was prompted to establish another branch due to the growing demand for affordable but quality mobile phones.
Mweemba notes that Monze has witnessed a new group of mobile phone consumers that has the hunger to explore a variety of mobile phones are able to connect to the internet at a faster rate without losing battery power.
The opening of the outlet was characterized by performances by Rap duo of Chanda Na Kay, Tonga fan’s favourite, Real Jay and comedian, Lucky leaving the crowd that blocked the main Livingstone/Lusaka road frenzied.
Meanwhile, thousands of Monze residents and surrounding areas on Friday thronged the Mobile Champion outlet to be part of the 50% discount promotion.
State Police manning the gate, had a tough time controlling customers who could not resist queues that formed from as early as 06:00 hours in the morning through to the afternoon amid the scorching sun.
Some of the customers interviewed welcomed the move to open an outlet in Monze saying they had for a long time been deprived of proper communication owing to limited mobile brands around town.
