A 35-year-old man of Mkwekwe village in Paramount Chief Mpezeni’s area in Chipata district has been axed to d£ath by his nephew on suspicion of being a wizard.
Chenjelani Zulu was hacked by Patrick Zulu around 01:00 hours today.
Eastern Province police commanding officer Limpo Liywalii says the deceased sustained three deep cuts on the head.
Mr Liywalii says the suspect has surrendered himself to police after the incident while the body of the deceased has been taken to Chipata Central hospital mortuary.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident happened few hours after the d£ath of the suspects’ step mother at the same village.
Mr Liywalii says police are still investigating the matter.
