A Pirate Taxi Driver has lost his vehicle in Kafue District, Lusaka Province, after it was stolen in pursuit of a passenger.
Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Danny Mwale tells Byta FM Zambia that the incident occurred on Sunday, September 3, 23 at around 03:40 hours, Kafue Police Station.
He said Police received a report of theft of motor vehicle from Alfred Mukisi, 20, a Taxi Driver of Kalundu View in Kafue who was driving a Toyota Corolla, ALP 1494, grey in colour, property of Willy Mukwayi, 40, of Shikoswe.
Mwale said brief facts are that Alfred Mukisi was pirating a taxi in the night.
He said at around 24:00hrs, he picked a male person from Shikoswe Station and told him to take him to Kafue Town at Highway Park Lodge.
Mwale said when he reached at the Lodge, the driver was told to pick the passenger after 2 hours.
He said at 03:00 hours, the driver went back to the Lodge and parked at the gate and went inside to check for the person leaving the motor vehicle well secured but the reporter could not find the customer.
Mwale said on return, the driver found that the Motor Vehicle was stolen.
He said the scene of crime was visited, and a docket of case opened.
Mwale said the vehicle is valued at K40 000.
