A 63 year old man of Chasefu District in Eastern Province has been found dead in unclear circumstances.
Eastern Province Police Commissioner Limpo Liywalii confirmed in a statement to ZANIS in Chasefu, and identified the deceased as Davy Kumwenda of Kalinkhu Village in Senior Chief Magodi’s area.
He said the man is suspected to have died a sudden and unnatural death, between 06th and 07th October, 2023.
Mr Liywalii said the body of the deceased was found in a decomposed state on Thursday 12th October, in his house lying on the bed facing upwards with his legs stepping on the floor.
The Eastern Province Police Chief disclosed that the deceased body had no physical injuries except magots that were all over his body at the time police carried an inspection.
Mr Liywalii said after police inspection, the body was handed over to the family for burial, since no suspected foul play was involved.
