A 10-year-old boy has died after being hit by a truck in Nakonde.
Emmanuel Sikazwe was struck by the vehicle near the civic centre on the Great North Road on Tuesday afternoon.
He was with his 12-year-old brother, Mannaseh Sikazwe, who witnessed the accident.
The brothers were on their way to sell frozen drinks, commonly known as freezits, for their neighbour.
Mannaseh has told Chete FM News that Emmanuel, who was in grade 3 at Nakonde Primary School, was hit as he tried to cross to the other side of the road.
He was taken to Nakonde Urban Clinic, but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The driver and the truck have been detained by the police.
