A Scania Truck which was carrying fish from Namibia to Lusaka had its trailer extensively burnt after a mechanical fault at Monze’s Simwendengwe School Junction on Monday.
The truck belonging to Erongo Commodity Trade Company in Namibia was being driven by 33-year-old Jairos Banda of Kuomboka Compound in Lusaka.
Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Auxensio Daka, notes that the horse of the vehicle was hooked off before it caught fire, while all the fish was looted by villagers.
Daka says no life was lost.
